1. What skills will be covered at a motocross school?
The training is focused on the individual needs of each rider, novice and advanced. Exercises include body positioning, braking, clutch control, throttle control, line selection, passing manoeuvres, and race simulations.
2. What ages of rider can attend a motocross school?
All ages, the riders are grouped on the day according to age, bike size and skill level.
3. How many riders at a school?
35 riders is a full school.
4. What do I have to do to get my 5 hours signed off?
Attend at a 1-day course or 1 day of a 2-day course.
5. If a 2-day school, do I have to do both days?
No, you can choose to do 1 day or 2 days.
6. At which clubs should I attend a school?
Senior riders:
Appin, Oakdale, Mt.Kembla, Nowra, Canberra
Junior riders:
All clubs, Appin, Oakdale, Mt.Kembla, Hornsby, Nowra, Canberra, Kuringai Miniwheels, Sutherland PCYC.
7. Do I need to be a member of the club where a school is held?
Yes for Mt. Kembla, or pay a non-member ride fee for the other clubs ($10 - $20).
8. How much is club membership?
If you go onto the Race Pace website and go to the links page, there is link to all the club websites. The club websites will have the membership fees.
9. I want to come to a school, but I don’t have a race licence. Can I attend?
Yes
Juniors – will do a kickstart course and will be given a kickstart book at the completion of the course.
Seniors – can get a one-event licence $20
10. My kid’s licence has expired, can he attend a school?
Yes, he can get a one-event licence $20 at the school. After the school you can renew your MA licence.
11. How do I get my race licence?
Juniors:
First you need to be a member of a club. Attend 1 day at a motocross school. At the completion of the course you will receive a signed off kickstart book. Then you send in pages from the kickstart book with your licence application to MNSW.
Seniors:
First you need to be a member of a club. Attend 1 day at a motocross school. At the completion of the course you will receive a signed off senior licence test. Then you send in the paperwork with your licence application to MNSW.
12. Can I get endorsed for a 250F and a 125cc at a 1 day school?
No, you will need to do a 1-day school on each bike to get endorsed for each bike. Once you are endorsed on each bike you do not need to get endorsed every year. As a junior you just need to do a 1-day course (5 hours) to renew your licence.
13. What skills will be covered at supercross schools?
The coaches will work their way around the track. All sections of the supercross track will be covered (i.e. corners, straights, jumps – tabletops, stutters, singles, doubles and triples).
14. Can I attend a supercross course?
Riders must be 11 and years 9 months or older to attend and hold a valid MA national licence.
15. How do I get my supercross accreditation?
Attend a supercross school. One of the requirements is that you’re not a danger to yourself or to other riders. You will be expected to jump some of the jumps, but not all the big jumps.
16. I already have my supercross accreditation, what will I get out of the school?
You will have the chance to brush up on your skills, get some coaching and practise.

18. Do I need to bring food?
It depends on the venue. Appin, Mt. Kembla, Nowra, Sutherland PCYC and Ku-Ring-Gai have canteens, but it is always best to check if the canteens are going to be open.
